Gwailo Films' latest movie, "Teabreak" has made it to the final three in teh film category of Film Four & Tango's "Unleash The Talent Inside" competition!

We now have to go to a screening/award ceremony on Dec 6th to find out who wins proper!

I like it, cool and funny story. hope it goes onto get something.

One thing though i looked at that competition and thought about entering it. But i got the impression that it wanted digital effects and a load of flashy crap etc, etc. I was just wondering where they were in yours, or didnt i see them (the quality of the transfer wasnt too clear). Or am i just talking bollocks, and all you had to do is edit it on a comp or use a digi cam.

Thanks for the kind words; glad you liked it.

Our "effects and flashy crap" amounted to speeding up the fight scenes a bit and making the outside stuff a bit lighter. We were gonna have a bit of CG stuff (Shiba Mask coming out of the comic rather than through the door, some Manga-style rushing backgrounds etc.), but we didn't have time.

We shot on 3-chip miniDV and edited on my friend Tom's computer.
The quality of what you see on the web is crap because they made RealMedia files off my VHS tape rather than the DV.

To be honest, most of the other stuff that I've seen from the competition looked like a mobile phone network commercial. We seemed to be the only people telling a story.
